The OCT is a very sensitive state-of-the-art scanner that, amongst other things, enables us to examine the microscopic layers beneath your retina (the light sensitive layer at the back of your eye).

We can get a 3D picture of your eye and also a series of images that are cross-sections, rather like an MRI scan. This allows us to diagnose conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and optic nerve disease at a much earlier stage.
Safe Non Invasive Eye Scan
Having an OCT scan is very safe because it works by only using normal light. The procedure itself is not painful but, in order to get clear pictures, you might need to have pupil dilation.
